OHIP-Covered Dermatology (Referral Required)
If you have concerns that may be covered under OHIP, you can request a referral from your family doctor to see Dr David Bastien. The following referral-based services are currently being accepted.
Early detection saves lives. Dr. David Bastien provides thorough skin exams and targeted assessments of suspicious lesions, ensuring patients receive timely investigation and management.
Acne is one of the most common skin concerns, affecting both teens and adults. We provide personalized treatment plans that may include prescription therapies and, when appropriate, advanced procedures to reduce breakouts and prevent scarring.
Rosacea can cause redness, flushing, and sensitivity that affect both comfort and confidence. We offer individualized care plans that combine medical therapies with in-clinic treatments to calm flare-ups and improve skin health over time.
For urgent or semi-urgent lesions suspicious for skin cancer, we provide a dedicated same-day biopsy clinic every Wednesday. This service allows patients with referrals to be seen quickly, reducing delays in diagnosis and treatment.

No, unfortunately if your dermatology concern is purely OHIP-covered, you must use a referral for access. However, if your condition is cosmetic, you may book through our front desk or through the booking links in our service menu.
3. Will Dr. Bastien accept referrals for conditions outside those listed?
No, at this time Dr. Bastien is only accepting referrals for Skin Cancer and Suspicious Lesion Assessment, Acne Management, and Rosacea.
